The first or second time I got Gears of War I played a few player matches online. Then I got back into the campaign and didn't play online at all for the next couple days.

Then a few days ago I tried to play a ranked game and couldn't. Whenever I try to connect to an online game, player or ranked, quick or custom match, I always get a 'can't connect to host,' message. I recycled my modem, I've turned my 360 on and off, I've tried to join at least 30 or 40 games. I never can connect. Anyone know what might be up? This is really annoying. The single player is keeping me preoccupied for now, but once I'm finished... I want the online to work.

This is an error they are working on fixing. Fortunately, there's a way around it. Follow these instructions and I gurantee you will have 10 times less this problem.

Choose ranked match, then custom ranked match. Change your filter to whatever kind of game you want to play. Hit A and it should say refreshing. After a couple of seconds, hit X and the matches will show up behind "refreshing". Choose whatever match you desire and WALA.

You will get the hang of when to press X
