OK FIRST OFF TO EACH THEIR OWN. THE GAME WAS NOT TERRIBLE, IT DID START OF A LITTLE SLOW FOR MOST PEOPLE, BUT IT WAS THAT BAD IT WOULD NOT HAVE SOLD SO MANY COPIES OR MAKE ALL THAT MONEY FOR ROCK STAR. NAME ALONE CANNOT CARRY A GAME FOR THEM. IF THAT WAS THE CASE THE GAME STATE OF EMERGENCY WOULD HAVE BEEN A HIT AND NOT SINK LIKE A ROCK.

SECOND, FOR GTA V I WOULD HAVE LIKE THE MAIN CHARACTER TO BE A POLICE DETECTIVE. I GOT THE IDEA WHILE READING THE LATEST COPY OF XBOX MAGAZINE. I LOVE TO STEAL A CAR AND ACTUALLY BE "COMMANDEERING" OR BE DOING SOME DIRT AND WHEN THE COPS SHOW UP TO ARREST SOMEONE I CAN JUST FLASH MY BADGE AND GET AWAY.

Well, i personally think they should let you customize your character. Like, boy/girl, different hair, etc. But you'd start off with some basic clothes (like tnaktop and jeans or something, idk)

but i wish it was more run n gun than the run around and do missions stuff. some missions just get annoying. and darts, bowling? wth much? i dont remember that in like GTA:SA or VC or anything

GTA is not about character customization. Everybody is complaning about no car moding, no jetpack, no flamethrower. etc. I would rather play with Niko, CJ, or Tommy any day then a person u create yourself. In SR your character didnt say anything and had no personality. SR2 will be the same even though they are adding voices for your character and the games humor was so corny. Freckle Bitches, please. They tried to steal way to much from GTA and when i was playing it seemed like a second rate GTA. I like SR but GTA is the true sandbox king. and always will be. Just like GTA3 did not have as many features as San Andreas or Vice City, the sequels will have more features and the online will be better and we still have DLC coming for GTA4.But to answer the forum question I hope they do another Vice City because that would be the obvious choice and in my opinion the best option seeing as how many people loved the first Vice City

Yeah, I'm with Mayo on this one. That OXM issue made some interesting suggestions.

I think it would be fun to actually play as a cop, and constantly have to decide between being a "good cop" by the books, a dirty cop that accepts bribes and aids the mob, or a vigilante that enables his own justice off hours.

Building up "stars" would get criminal organizations of escalating potential on your trail, but you would be able to call in backup in the form of a cop buddy in a squad car or maybe the city's SWAT team.

Actually, your character in Saints Row speaks in a few cutscenes to deliver the best lines in the game. It's a classic "to each their own" mentality. The GTA series is moving toward hyper-realism, whereas Saints Row is embracing the over-the-top nature of sandbox gaming that had been abandoned by the king. I loved GTA very much, but in all honesty, I think Saints Row was a better game in terms of storyline and having more varied missions. If Saints Row 2 is more of the same, but with more vehicles, weapons and mission types, I will be extremely satisfied.

Not to mention that Saints Row 2 will have co-op as well.

The reason that their was no custimization of the character is because they actually built a story around a specific character. Customizing was just not possible for them to correctly tell a GREAT story.
Dont get me wrong I love to customize my characters. With every new game like Madden 09 the first thing I do is make myself. Thats why Im so excited about Saints Row 2.

If you didnt want to go bowling with your buddy, just say no or dont answer the phone. LOL

I thought GTAIV was awesome and I also think Saints Row 2 will be awesome. Two different sandbox games heading in two different directions
