Now the first batch of an unknown number of additional downloads is set to hit next month: That's right, the Lost and Damned pack for GTA IV will be available on the Xbox Live Marketplace beginning February 17th. The DLC, announced last year, will follow Johnny, a new recruit in "The Lost" biker gang. The missions are said to revolve around needing smaller vehicles so you are less tempted to hop in a truck and finish the biker missions.
Rumors are rampant as to the price: Websites have it ranging from 1200 Microsoft Points to 1600 Microsoft Points. One site even claims it could cost as much as 3500 Microsoft Points. Although I'm sure the upper end is just unfounded speculation, it wouldn't surprise me to have Microsoft decide this DLC should cost 1600 points. Whatever the price may be, count on it being a little pricier than the standard 800 Microsoft Points; but with that hefty price-tag comes 250 additional achievement points to be had. Recently announced by Rockstar, the Lost and Damned expansion pack will include the following achievements:
Get Good Wood - 50G - In bike races, whack off 69 bikers with a bat.
Easy Rider - 100G - Finish the story.
Full Chat - 70G - Your backup are riding at their best!
The Lost Boy - 25G - All hail the leader of The Lost!
One Percenter - 5G - Billy is back on his bike.
With all 250 additional achievement points that Microsoft allows used on this pack, I cannot help but wonder what else could Rockstar do as far as additional content goes. I don't know about everyone else, but I would be hard pressed to purchase additional content for 1600 or even 800 Microsoft Points and not have any new achievements to obtain. Of course, Microsoft has broken their own rule before, so who knows what will happen.
As far as the Lost and Damned goes; not only will you be able to purchase it through the Xbox Live Marketplace, but it looks to be available for purchase on disc at retailers as well. I saw a box advertising it at my local Gamestop this weekend. I will eventually pick this up; I still need to go through and find all of the flying rats and make friends with Brucie and such: Maybe this will motivate me to do so.
