How in the world do you get the co-op achievements in this game? Do you have to play on-line, or can you do them locally with a buddy?

the co-op missions I think you can just beat them with a buddy, but that would be really hard I had a hard time beating them with 8 people.

These multi-player achievements irritate the f*ck out of me. Most of them are just tedious and don't contribute to the game experience IMO.
So what is the secret?
They have Coop 1-1 and I have beaten the extermination co-op in the beach area (albeit solo). Should I have received an achievement for this, or do I have to beat several co-op games before the 1-1 kicks in?

I got all these the first time I went online. It was rather simple for me because everyone in the room was super good at the game and they had strategies and everything else. I just followed their lead. The funny thing is for one of the games everyone died except 1 person and when that person finished we all got the achievement:D

Z, you dont have to do them online.. you can do them just by urself on the xbox in multiplayer (i've completed some by myself), i thinks its like local play or something.. anyways thats how i go the 30 kills before dying.. i got the rest online

They are right. It takes a lot of talking and strategy, believe it or not. Everyone cant just run and do there own thing (though I beat it by myself once doing that). I only had trouble on one of the missions, which I forgot the name of. I would love to join you guys, but unfortunately, I sold it.
