Fallout 3 Alien Blaster Ammo

I just got this weapon called the Alien Blaster (you get it from an alien crash site in the north part of the map, north of MDPL power station) and I've already used like 70 out of the 120 ammo in it. I heard from my friend that there is a way to get more ammo but he doesn't remember where it is. Does anybody know where I could find it?

not sure, but i believe there are two alien blasters in the game.
i only found one, and never used it. took it back to my crib and saved it, thinking i'd be using it later but never did, hahaha.

When you're done with the DLC, Operation Ancorage, you can steal it off the shelves, well not steal it, but take it, along with some pretty badass armor, and all kinds of weapons.

Oh ya, I forgot, that second alien blaster, per the Prima guide that I have, just randomly falls out of the sky after a random explosion, awesome...haha

Is there a certain way to get the event to happen? Like is there something random to do to cue the random event? Or does it just happen whenever it feels like?

idk if this will help, but search around vault 106 for a little bit. right after i got the first one from the downed UFO (i recomened any of the videos from youtube to grab this first one if you haven't already) i heard a loud distant noise from near what i learned to be vault 106 i went there to check it out thinking i'll just kick some ass like usual, but then i found ammo on the ground along with another gun (after 20 mins of looking for the gun it's self.) random happenings are pretty weird for my save of fallout 3 lol
did anyone else have this experience near vault 106? also, i did some digging and it turns out the area i found it in isent even listed as a random event area, so i guess it just glitched or something, but you never know i suppose.

it's possible of course. but i was reading from an acutal report put out by the programmers on the map that you get in the back of the fallout3 prima guide. so either way idk lol

actually, i never actually found the random encounter. i found the static crash site, and once while wandering around i heard something and saw something in the sky for a brief second. i do believe that was it, but i never found the wreckage. it was to the far northwest, which i don't believe is near vault 106 if my memory serves me.

its not. it's most likely just some random lucky glitch like has been happening in my game save quite a bit lol

That, my friend, was indeed the Firelance Event. It is funny though how it is possible that you see nothing but Alien Power Cells and the FL (if you have dogmeat or if you have good eyes) after the crash. No ship parts or any other scenery objects. It seems that the ship disintegrates.
