i wonder if they would take the trade if i painted it. i got some skills with an airbrush so it will look bad ass if i paint it. i cant do killer skulls like u see on those bike shows or nething but as a hobby im fairly good.

I'm thinking of painting mine red with a Cincinnati C (Reds style) and 513 under it somewhere, I'll probably go the full distance and use 600 sandpaper, my dad paints cars so he's gonna help me, sadly, I am dogsitting until the 1st, so it probably won't be done for a little bit, but I'll definitely post results.

As long as you don't open the case when you paint it (aka you tape it up so you don't get paint on the internal parts) GameStop should take it back. I've taken painted systems as trade-ins given they work perfectly and weren't warranty voided.
I painted my original Xbox (painted the "X" design silver and left the rest black) and my PS2 Guitar Hero guitars (one red and the other silver). Make sure you use Krylon Fusion (for plastics, like Junior said) and paint it in a well ventilated place (outside or garage). The best way is to take your box apart and just paint the shell though, which will void your warranty.
Either way you do it, make sure to tape up the areas you don't want painted. Plugging up the exhaust holes will be a pain in the ass... I have no advice for that. Maybe using a ton of sucker sticks from Blow Pops? There are WAY too many holes on this system...

Hahaha, I would like to see how that turns out. Like a blind man tripping on acid painted it?

i taped the holes from the inside so if paint tried to gunk up, the tape would take it out with no issues.
I recommend painting the box krylon fusion silver. it is bad ass. especially if you have an elite and tape of your memory card and usb slots
XxTime - you need to paint my Caliber SRT-4 Emerald Jade Green With Black Brilliant Pearl Accents and Side Mirrors

I just had RROD in May, and I sent my system in that had been opened, and the void sticker removed, it was also flashed when it was sent in, I received a new system about 2 weeks later, I don't think they really check.
