Aye, I agree 100%.
If you're not going to have p2p connection option for online gaming, then don't make Achievements that require you getting on to a server that may not be there a year or two down the road.

def jam icon hasnt been out THAT long has it?
tbh i didnt know it had online achieves..but then again, never could get any on that game lol
thats kind of retarted tho. its like the Midway servers for Blitz: The League...they shut down the servers so you cant get them anymore (me and mdub tried like 2 months ago to boost them..)

This is EXACTLY why i hate online achievements. If there's going to be some then there should be a way to unlock them in local multiplayer as well so the achievements don't become unattainable later on. I was going to play Def Jam: Icon, not now!!

no correction. this is why ea forking blows. they give you online achieves, only to disable them in 1-2 years just to tick people off.
example, there was one game (i think it was a racing game? idk and idr) but one achievement was to win any "weekend event" race, and i think there was also a like "win 10 weekend event races in a row" but they shut it down within maybe less then a year so it was impossible to get..

Well C'mon guys!! Don't be so hard on EA!! They don't have enough money to keep these servers operational! It's not their fault that those games sucked so fuckin' bad that people that weren't willing to buy their shitty-assed games for $60!and now that we are willing to get those games, we are no longer entitled to the Achievement points that said games were forced to force upon us!
Hooray for multiplayer!
At least add to the gameplay value, or come up with better achievements, you fucking whores!

Seriously, fuck EA. And I mean that in the nicest way possible, but I am so tired if bullshit like this and their constant nickel and diming of their customers. Get over yourself Electronic Arts, and quit being idiots! ... That was my rant for the day...

I really can't say what's worse. EA closing their servers after 1-2 years or 2K purposely putting unattainable achievements in their hockey games. they both deserve to be boycotted imo

There's no reason to ever play def jam now.
