I've had this problem for awhile now, but it's just starting to become a frequent occurrence. Without any warning in the middle of a game, my disc tries to open but can't, and I'm sent back to the dashboard. Anyone know a fix? My regular warranty is long gone and only the 3 red lights is covered by Microsoft's new 3-year warranty.

Well, i am going to only give you advise. Here in Iraq we have gone through about 4 xbox's(red lights,opening trays,tray will not open). When contacting xbox they ask the same old questions.Have you registered it? Whats the problem? that kind of stuff. Don't lie but tell them the red lights come on once in awhile along with your tray opening. Even though your out of your warranty they have to fix it. Also It is sent to Texas to be fixed not to the people you speak with..Trust me others have sent them and got them allready back and are way out of there warranty . They dont care about your warranty they just fix'em. Hope this helps.

I really don't want to have to send it in but it looks like I'm going to have to. It's happened 4 times so far today, and I've lost plenty of EXP in Halo because of it.

oh man i hope i dont have that prob. the 3 red lights was enough 4 me. they didnt even send me mine back they replaced it so i cant use anything i downloaded unless im on xbl which sux. but thats why i got a premium. and the only other problem i had other then the 3 red lights with the core, was that the tray only opened when it wanted to. but i know how you feel i didnt like the idea of havin to send my core in.
