I have a desktop PC with wireless internet connection near my 360, but the actual router is downstairs. Is there any way for me to use an ethernet cable to connect the 360 and the PC near it and connect to the internet from the 360 for Xbox Live?

It is possible, but I've never gotten it to work. From what I've read, you need to "bridge" the connection. On Windows XP if you go into the properties of your wireless connection there should be an option to bridge the connection, and somehow you'd specify that the wired Ethernet connection to the 360 is the one you'd like to bridge with.

good luck with the bridge....back when i had a pc i couldn't get the bridge to work for a usb device. is there any way you can just relocate your router/modem by your 360 so you can just use a short cat. 5 cable to and from?

WitnessBoobie thank you so much I followed the instructions on the Instructables website and it works perfectly! I am currently downloading the update for "new xbox experience" and I hope to be playing Live in about 20 minutes.
