Honestly I didn't play enough Halo 3 online to know how shitty thier rank system is, but COD4's at least makes sense and is reasonable.

Halos ranking system is based on your reall skill, and you wont rank up unless you really are good enough to rank, it tries to keep you at you rank based on how well you play. Example: if you a lower rank than the other team, and you beat them.. you will go up because their ranks are higher. its kinda hard to explain. It definetally different than cod but in cod you rank up regardless of how you play, in halo if you play good you have a better chance of ranking up.

no, its a ass. LOL im sorry. I played Halo MP day in and day out since number 2 came out, and i went thru fucking hell with that ranking up system. Worst one ive seen. Still a killer game though. But fail when it comes to leveling.

in cod you rank up based on how much xp you rack up. unless youre playing headquarters or something. but for the most part its all based upon how many kills you get, how many kills will also determine how slow or quick you rank up.

in cod you rank up based on how much xp you rack up. unless youre playing headquarters or something. but for the most part its all based upon how many kills you get.

The only downside I see to halo's ranking system is when you don't play for a while and then you are still at the same skill when you start playing again and get your butt handed to you because you aren't as good anymore...lol
COD is much easier to level/rank up on, but (usually) only skilled people rank up in Halo...it is MUCH more satisfying to rank up in halo knowing people can't do it unless they are good (although I have heard of ways to rank up fast by abusing the system).
