Alright, I've always loved the Command & Conquer series, and I've gotten literally every game except maybe the expansion pack for Tiberian Sun. I can't remember. Anyways, I've always played them on the PC. My current PC can't play this newest addition to the series because of it's video card.

I've been considering waiting until it comes out for xbox 360, but then I don't know how well the controls will work. I can't imagine playing a Command & Conquer game without a keyboard and a mouse. Is there anyway I could hook up a usb mouse & keyboard to play it on my 360 as if I were on a PC? After all it can't provide that much of an advantage over other people. That's just how I'm used to playing them.

My alternative is to buy windows and then buy the game for PC, but Windows is expensive. I don't think I want to get Vista, not until service pack 1 is out atleast. For now I found Windows XP Home w/ Service Pack 2 OEM at $89.99 at newegg. Since it's OEM it's meant for people building a PC... I heard somewhere you're not required to show the proof of purchase of the hard drive, motherboard, ram, etc. & that it will work when installing on a partition on a mac through boot camp. I just hope they're right if I buy.

Any suggestions?

Would the new thumb-keyboard work? I don't really see a solution for you besides getting it on the computer, but then you'll have to deck it out with a whole bunch of new stuff. Your call man, either you learn to like it on 360 or you shell out a few hundred so you can play it comfortably on PC.

This ended up coming out for Mac after major delays. I got it a day or two after it was released and love it. It took awhile for EA to patch the mac version so Mac users could play online but it's great now. I can't play at that high settings, but I think that's mostly due to the fact it's a port and because I'm using a mobile graphics card since I have a Macbook Pro. The pc version doesn't support any mobile graphics cards from what I read.

Also, the loading time to launch the game is ridiculously slow, but I've accepted it as I know Mac gaming will always have the backseat over pc gaming and we'll rarely have Mac OS native games.

C&C3 was my first RTS on the 360 and I have to say, I love it. Sure it's different from playing on a PC, but it's still great. If you're a "PC gamer" that is hung up on that fact alone, I'd say don't bother (I have a friend that fits this description). However, if you are open minded about what you play games on, then give it a try on the 360. I felt like the controls were great and worked really well for a console adeptation. It's one of my favorites that I will continue to play on the 360.

BTW: You can't use a keyboard and mouse on the 360 for this game, nor can you use the chatpad- it's all controller.

I used to play a ton of C&C back in the day on PC, but I gave C&C3 on 360 a try, and I absolutely love it. The controls aren't perfect, but they keep up the C&C feel on the 360. I want to see what is to come with RTS on consoles. It can be done, and it can be done well. C&C3 is proof of that.
