Midway brings word that they are in development of Blitz: The League II for the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. The game brings back Lawrence Taylor and promises to build on the previous games story while bringing new features and gameplay. One interesting note is that the storyline of the game is penned by the same guy (Peter Egan) that helped write Playmakers on ESPN. This is the controversy filled program that the NFL basically forced ESPN to take off the air. Oh yeah, late hits are back :-) Blitz: The League II will be available this Fall.

Return to Gridiron Glory as Midway Announces Blitz: The League(R) II

Sequel to Million Unit Selling Football Video Game Expected This Fall

CHICAGO --(Business Wire)-- Jul. 8, 2008 Midway Games Inc. (NYSE:MWY), a leading interactive entertainment software publisher and developer, announced today the development of Blitz: The League(R) II. Back for another season of heart-pumping, bone-crushing, no-holds-barred football action, Blitz: The League II strips the rules and regulations from traditional football to enhance the fun by bringing the pain. actualy Blitz:The League is actually kinda fun, but those odd gamerscore achievements were irritating...and you couldnt 1k the game because the servers are shut down (well they were when i started playin a few weeks ago lol)

but this sounds like a fun game :)

Nope, main reason is they don't have real teams like back then. But gameplay is about the same, just not as good as most other 360 games.
