Hey:

I'm just wondering how players balance their addictive video games habbit (which I proudly confess to) and the new responsibilities of being a father/mother.

My wife just went back to work yesterday and I realized no more than 15 minutes after I picked my son up from daycare that my 1-2 hours of gaming per evening were just about gone and I'd have to the lead the secret life of being a <<gasp>> weekend only gamer.

I know things may get better once he can entertain himself, but that's a while away.

Much like anything you want to do, you have to schedule time to do it when it was best. I always was able to squeeze some in during the day when the kids are napping, especially when they are still infants. When I got home from work, I would put him down (around 4:30) for a 1.5 hour nap, which allowed me to game.

Now that they are older (2 years and 6 years), I just do it when I can, but much like Raine, usually at night after they are down for the night.

Its easier in summer, because with the lack of Network TV shows, I can game instead. During the TV season, it is a bit tougher even though I have a DVR....

my gaming was next to nil when my daughter was born because i had to work between 90 - 100 hours a week, and when i wasn't working i was a zombie .... neeeeed sleeeep......muuuust eeeeeeeeat ! it'll pass eventually, just get used to about 4- 5 hours of sleep a night and get in a nap when you can.

Well I'm not a parent yet (god I would hope not :baffled: ), but I can speak for my dad. Now that I'm older and I play too, my dad usually has plenty of time. He gets home from work at around 7:30 or 8:30 (depending on if he goes to the gym), has a small dinner, then alternates between Xbox and TV until 3A.M. My mom gets mad sometimes that me and him are always on the game, but we always work it out.
