Unfortunately, in the world of justice, this doesn't mean too much. There are going to be three issues to watch for in the next couple of weeks:
1) Thompson has already filed a motion to have the June 4th hearing either postponed or thrown out.
While the latter of the two is very unlikely, he may very well get a stay of execution, so to speak, and get it pushed back, ultimately giving him time to prepare for this.
2) He has already filed a motion that Judge Dava Tunis, who is the one making the recommendation, isn't technically a judge in Florida.
This is more of a formality, but she hasn't been properly sworn in. While this seems completely irrelevant, when it comes to the law, nothing is irrelevant. Something so small can make a huge a difference.
3) He still has until the actual September 2nd date to make many arguments.
Ultimately, that date on September 2nd is going to decide his fate. 27 of 31 misconduct issues is a pretty hefty number, and the most important of all of these is the one named in the article itself about dishonesty, fraud, deceit, or misrepresentation.
If the June 4th hearing takes place, we're going to know a lot more about what to expect for September. If it doesn't happen, keep your fingers crossed, because it probably means that Thompson still has allies.

Raine, it's a little crazier than just her not being sworn in.
She was sworn in, but the actual document where she took the oath and that she had to sign was never properly signed by the Florida Bar or the Florida Justice Department. So, while she has been a judge for awhile, a little oversight might just make her opinion null and void, although I think all it does is delays the inevitable.
Thompson, while being absolutely bat**** loco, isn't an idiot. This hearing in June will more than likely happen, and Thompson's argument will stem that the suggestion came from a "Judge who really isn't a Judge", which voids her opinion. However, considering that she was hand picked for that nine day hearing where his ethics were brought into question, I doubt it will hold water.
There's still a lot going on with this issue, and I'm sure there will be more information popping up over the course of the next three months.
Only time will tell, but it's starting to look like Thompson is finally in over his head.

Agreed, Raine. All he's trying to do is buy time. In the end, I think it will be completely useless, though. That September hearing is looking to be his end.
