I had a launch 360 up until like 3 months after the release of the Elite. It never red ringed, but with some clever warranty switching on Best Buy, I managed to trade it up for an Elite, which hasn't red ring yet, so I've been RROD-Free so far (knocks on nearest piece of wood).

I've received the RROD 7x. On 7 different boxes.
My 8th 360 is still kicking after 3 years (no longer under warranty)
My 9th 360 (elite) is showing signs of fatigue after 6 months of heavy use, I fear it doesn't have long left now. (still under warranty)

no RROD yet and I have owned it for more than a year and its somewhat modded in a sense of design and opening for good air flow
