Carlin was a genius and a hero of mine. It is truly a sad day for me.
Most of the younger people will remember him from movies such as Dogma (Catholacism WOW! The buddy Christ was classic! lol) and the hitchhiker from Jay and Silent Bob strike back, that will give head for a ride. ("Of course you gotta make with the head, but for a ride across country, I'll take a shot in the mouth!")
I remember being young and going through my dad's record collection and finding old comedy records of his from the 60s and 70s. This stuff was raunchy by today's standards, let alone back then! And it was hilarious! He was one of the original shock comedians, and an inspiration to most of today's comedians!
If anyone is interested, I recommend his book, Brain Droppings. It is a hodgepodge of random short stories, one liners, lists, and general brain droppings. It is a book to put in the bathroom, and just open to any page and just start reading! It is brilliant, in my opinion.
I just wanted to give a tribute to a great man, and arguably one of the funniest comics ever to walk the earth! George Carlin will be missed!
