I'd also like to hear about this, not for gaming potential, just for anyone who's tried learning the guitar on it... I thought about gifting this for Christmas but I missed it when it was in the amazon gold box and I had forgotten about it since.

Last month's GameInformer had a pretty informative review of it and gave it good marks as a learning tool. From what I read, it lets you learn at your own pace and even adapts to your skill level for those who already have some experience. It comes with a usb adapter jack that lets you use any electric guitar.

I've also read some good reviews for it. I'm just playing the waiting game and holding out for it when it hits the bargain bin.

Yeah, I can't justify paying full retail on the chance it's just gonna join the unused electric guitars in the corner collecting dust.

Honestly I enjoyed this game, even though I suck at playing the guitar :/

i have the game myself and it is amazing, the software can recogize individual notes/chords and secific strings. It is an awesome learning tool. I got a Fender Strat for free using best buy reward zone points, I am enjoying learning this way

I keep hearing it's a lot of fun. I can't wait to ditch the plastic guitars and start strumming like a champ.

It really is a good learning tool. You can practice the individual chords for each song on there via the chord book. The mini games help to advance skills in certain areas, such as hand movements along the fretboard, etc. The only problem that I have with the game is that when you're playing a song, all single notes, once you hit so many in a row it advances the difficulty in the middle of the song. So you will go from single note to chords in the middle of a song. This can be tricky at first, especially when they throw things at you that you've never seen before, such as harmonics and bends. But it also goes the other way, too. if you're missing notes it will lower the difficulty in the middle of the song.

Eventually I will pick this up from the bargain bin for $10.00 and play it on my junk account.

I think it's definitely worth it, if you're into playing the guitar of course. Skill level shouldn't matter as long as you enjoy playing the instrument.

Well this is definitely the game to help build your skills on. I cannot play the guitar but I enjoy playing this and have learned a few things since getting it. The game comes with numbered stickers that you can stick on the side of your fretboard to help with transitioning up and down the neck. My buddy makes fun of me for it, but it has helped a lot. He's also had 5 years of classical training.
