Rock Band DLC 3/11/08

Rock Band downloadable content is switching things up this week. Taking a break from older, classic, and well-known bands we've become accustomed to, they are offering three tracks from three different bands which can be described as up and coming. The tracks are as follows:

Black Tide - "Shockwave"

Paramore - "crushcrushcrush"

Serj Tankian - "Beethovens C***"

The three tracks are only available individually, not as a pack. They are, however, half price from other offerings at a mere 80 Microsoft points a piece. I've never heard of any of these bands, but I think it is awesome that Harmonix is not afraid to put new, different things up there. Playing old favorites at a premium is great, but it's awesome to hear some new talent and songs, even better at the less-than-normal price point.

I think it's neat that they released these, as they are along the lines of the OXM-exclusive goodies from Freezepop & Bang Camaro--semi-known bands that Harmonix wants to give props to or whatever.

To get "at the gates" look for an upcoming issue of OXM magazine. It will include a disc with 3 songs, and yeah I can't wait.... At The Gates will be the most brutal metal to ever grace rock bands setlist.

Hahaha buy the metal plate for your pedal man..I already broke mine and repaired using the metal pedal....its freakin awesome....great way to smash your pedal with no fear....

it sucks that SOAD will be out of commision for a loong time, i cant wait to hear them when they get back to making music.

Since it's cheap, I already grabbed Beethovan's C since Serj/SoaD put out listenable if not great music.

I have just a tad over 80 points left, which should I grab out of Shockwave or crushcrushcrush? Like which one do you think sounds better, or would be more fun to 'play' in RB? I haven't heard either and I'm too lazy to pirate them right now, arr
