It looks like Microsoft's legal team was successful. PlayFire is allegedly no longer collecting Windows LIVE ID credentials.

That's great, but I still don't understand why anyone would even think about handing over any personal and private information over the internet. Especially in the day and age we live in now!
I applaud Microsoft for nipping this one in the bud. It shows that at least they have a marginal interest in protecting their users.

I think all that shows is that they're protecting their own interests. It's all image and appearance, not actual concerns for their users -_-
It was easy enough for them to rush in and shut down playfire, who no one has accused of misusing the info... but if they have a site that starts charging up points on member's accounts and other nefarious deeds, let's see how long they take to step in...
if the site is making you pay money, then MS will either want most of the money made...if they dont get any theyd shut it down lol
