I can see the merit of this. I have played several games in which you play through the game, but the last few achievements are the lame assed, "find all of the ______," and, talk to all of the ______." I don't feel like wasting time running around in an ugly environment trying to find some collectable that adds nothing to gameplay. I use a guide because I have better things to do.
The thing that throws up a red flag for me is the "WIKI" style, user submitted info. My pet peeve when it comes to X360A is the hastily thrown together "guides" that are posted by people that haven't finished a game, but absolutely wanted to put up a guide before anyone else, regardless of how useless said guide ends up. I hate when I really need help on a game and I pull up a guide that does little more than restate the achievement description in a more longwinded manner, or it says something like, "I don't have this one, so any tips would be helpful! DURRRRR..."
It would be a good idea to make sure that these in-game guides are monitored, edited and ultimately policed to assure that they don't become a waste of time because some DB wanted his 15 minutes of "gaming fame."

Yeah there are a few of those, along with ones from BradyGames. I'm fairly sure they're video walkthroughs of select parts of the game, that's why they're in parts, but since I haven't bought any I can't be sure. They do cost MS points to download, but they aren't integrated into the game like these new ones are supposedly going to be, if I'm reading this correctly. Some of the games I've seen these guides for include L4D 2, Gears 2(mostly the collectibles in the campaign), Lego Indiana Jones 2, and Wolfenstein.
