Gears of War Movie to be a Trilogy

Len Wiseman confirmed something some of us already knew: He's co-writing the upcoming Gears of War film with Chris Morgan . Second, he revealed something we hoped; he has plans for Gears of War to be a film trilogy.
He also revealed something some people might not like; the film will focus on the sci-fi-action aspect of Gears of War, rather than the Locust Horde. However with a trilogy, there is always a chance they will focus on the locust.
The Gears of War film is being co-financed and co-produced by Legendary Pictures, with Len Wiseman directing and Chris Morgan writing the script based on a first draft penned by Stuart Beattie. Gears of War creator Cliff Bleszinski is an executive producer of the film. As of right now, there is still no release date for the first movie.
"Wiseman's hope is that were wanting to do a three movies and really cover the bases on everything. Basically a harder edged Lord Of The Rings."
