Avatars a must when NXE launches in November

That's right when the New Xbox Experience launches next November all Xbox Live gamers will be forced to create on online persona for themselves by either making one or choosing from the pre-made set that will be available. One thing I don't understand as to why they are making people who don't care about the avatars is the fact that after you either create or pick an avatar you never have to use it again...ever what is the point of forcing people to pick one if you aren't going to use it? I think this falls into the lines of having the lobby set up correctly. You will have an 8 person lobby that you and your friends can sit in and hop around games while being in the lobby, when you are in the lobby you are represented as an avatar. It might sound stupid but they aren't forcing you to buy stuff for it. They are just trying to make this a more real gaming experience.

The idea of PAYING FOR CLOTHES on a fake person are kind of DUUUUUUUUUMMMMMMMMBBBBBBBBBBBBB(K EVOL?) but the general idea of avatars is neat.

Can't wait for the update.

thats like saying paying for pixelated images for games is obscure (that does mean kinda dumb, right?)

And I don't know why they'd make you make one... I like avatars, and I'd use points to buy clothes rather than spending them on gamer pictures, so I'm not put off by it at all, but if you don't care, why be forced to? All that does is make people like the idea LESS.

i think its kinda like what meg said.

with the NXE, to see whos online you see their avatar. so even if you dont want it, you have to make it so that your friends know youre online...idk, something like that...i guess

It's gotta be because if you want to play, say, '1 vs. 100', you hafta have an avatar. They really don't want your gamerpic sitting there not moving amongst 99 avatars.

To be honest, I don't care about the avatars... I don't care about gamer pics either I just want to play the game!

But I can't wait for the update

Avatars = Gay copies of the Wii. Why Microsoft is doing this I don't even know. The xbox should try to be as different from the other consoles as possible. But instead it has to copy the Wii, also the feature they are copying happens to be the gayest feature on the Wii.
