Guitar Hero downloadable song packs will continue the course at $6.25 for three song packs. In a Reuters interview, Dusty Welch (head Publishing for Red Octane) stated that over 300,000 downloads of song packs had been made since inception, and the service had been a "tremendous success".
There has been much outrage on message boards and community sites since the pricing was introduced. However, the "if you don't like it, don't buy it" mantra doesn't seem to be working for the vocal minority, as the downloads to date (assuming all paid) exceed $1.8 million. Thanks to Major Nelson for bearing the brunt of the whining and pointing out the article to his Twitter followers.
