Simply put the disc tray does not open. It works other than that. Anything is appreciated.

Ok... because I haven't seen it thought I would post about an issue that has occurred with my 360.

Several years ago, I had the same issue with my 360. I had to send it to the same place that handles the red ring repairs but it cost me $100.00 because it was beyond warranty. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news and I hope some one has a better answer. Good luck.

Is it a slim or an older model?
Actually, like Heathkilljoy said, if it is vertical, turn it horizontal. I have two 360s with bad trays. One of them will open with the case off, but as soon as I put it back together, it won't open without slapping it after you hit eject. This one has an obvious bend in the tray.
The other one I had was a worn out rubber band. The drives they use for 360s are pretty cheap. If the bands lose tension, the drive may no longer be able to overcome the locktab.
If it is an older xbox, there is a manual release under the faceplate. I'd have to know what type of drive you have to tell you what to do.
