You only download and update the launch client from Microsoft servers, all game content comes from Wargaming's servers.

There is a competition for most XP in tier V vehicles starting in 90 minutes, running for one week! Top prize is a KV5, second place is T23, third is M3 light and 5000 gold, continuing down to 10th-50th getting 500 gold!

Big things happening this week! Last weeks 1.3 update is getting fixes, a tier VI medium competition is going on this week along with the Operation Bacon event for 30% income and discount on tier VIs, 2 new tank lines coming Thursday, and new achievements are active!
