Although it is scripted, I have a personal thing against people calling it fake. As someone who actually did this stuff I can assure you that although some moves are just designed to look painful, the sport as a whole is EXTREMELY painful and taxing on one's body.
Call it scripted, call it staged, but please don't call it fake. The only time I almost ever passed out was when I took a headdive into the ring and didn't land 100% the way I was supposed to. Suffice it to say a severe concussion and my ex-wife (we were married at the time) watching ended my wrestling aspirations (she didn't want me to continue). Though it sucked part of me is glad I didn't continue, hell I've got enough neck/back and knee problems as it is. I can't imagine if I had done that for the past 11 years, I'd be falling apart!
Oh and I won't be watching Wrestlemania. Haven't watched wrestling in years. Don't know why. Maybe I'm getting old and part of me wishes I was in better shape and could still do that stuff.

Mini speaks the truth. Yeah, the matches outcomes may be staged and the punches may be fake, but hell, shit like old-school ECW wrestling was brutal. I remember Sabu and Terry Funk fought a Barbed Wire match back in the 90's. Shit was extremely brutal. And btw, there are many wrestling groups that are real, their just not as popular as WWE or TNA.
