Driving games are some of my favorites and I've been thinking of adding one to my queue now that my Forza 3 burnout has left me. That got me thinking of Nascar and I find out there have been no new Nascar releases since Nascar 09. They just skipped 10 and 11.

Did a quick search and didn't see anything. Where these games really that bad that they decided to kill the franchise? I love turning left.

Anyone have the skinny?

It has something to do with EA and not releasing the rights for any other Developer to make a NASCAR game...

That's why there hasn't been one in a couple of years. And 09 was the crappiest one that they made IMO

Edit: Scratch what I just said above...

Just read in the latest Game Informer that Activision and UK Developer Eutechnyx (Supercar Street Challenge) are making the next one...

NASCAR the Game 2011, comes out in Feb of 2011...

Nothing else on it, but figured I'd give ya an update

What I hated about '09 was the fact that all you seen in the game was Jeff Gordon. Pissed me off, but I didn't think it was too bad of a game, and the achievements weren't impossible, actually pretty easy with some time.

Looking forward to 11, but it's not going to be a game I run out and buy brand new. Just not that into Nascar, but I do enjoy the games.

Thanks for the info on 2011. If it's slated for Feb release, then it should be showing up on Gamefly soon so I can add it to my queue. I agree that these are rents and not buys.

I thought 2009 was all about Tony Stewart, but maybe that was 2008.

All the games start to blur over time, but I think 2009 had the career progression and team owner concepts, which I thought was an interesting addition to the game.
