Early 2000s we got a notification from our Cable provider letting us know about a bunch of new channels and what do ya know, my first look at games from somewhere different then my console or commercials.
As most of us know G4 was pretty much the sexiest thing on television as it was all gaming all day long, around a year or two later the G4 Tech TV merger happened bringing us a bunch of cool and interesting shows like Screen Savers and Anime Unleashed. Little did we know this change would make our only gaming channel crumble and die before our eyes.
So what does this all mean? I pretty much gave up on anything gaming related on television because the internet was way more effective for finding news, gameplay and reviews. Little did I know that an extremely awesome video game reality challenge show was on TV in 2009.
About a month ago I was sick for a couple days so I decided to look up some old episodes of Arena and Judgement Day but of course no where to be found, instead I found a bunch of people recommending a show called Ultimate Gamer. Curious to see all the buzz I decided to watch the first 3 episodes and hooked I became, finishing the first season (8 forty minute eps) in only a day was pretty awesome. Currently they're on season 2 with this ending tomorrow its kinda disappointing to jump in this late but at least now I have a new show to watch next year. : D
I highly recommend watching this show as all the episodes from both seasons are uploaded to Hulu and ready to be enjoyed. I will say that it kinda starts slow and casual-ish but its an interesting look at how professional and non professional gamers interact with each other.
