A license would more than likely incur fees of some sort. To run the servers for Xbox America is about 60 clams a month, who knows what Micro$oft would charge.

Im new to this site and all I just joined about a month ago for a tournament that a user got me into. And as from what I have seen this site has some amazing potential. The idea for having the achievements listed on each game will time some time and effort to manage and create. I am more then willing to put my skills to use and improve on a already amazing website.

Actually, the "license" that TrueAchievements petitioned for was really membership to the Xbox Community Developers Program, of which I am already a member. However, TA found out as soon as it obtained its membership that Microsoft provides no achievement data whatsoever. TrueAchievements is still screen scraping for achievement data, a process that is extremely resource expensive at that scale and is the reason the TA scanners go down so frequently.
With screen scraping, even the smallest change to Xbox.com pages can break the system.
I looked into doing something similar but decided against it. While it'd certainly take a long time to initially build, the necessary maintenance alone is reason to think twice. Maybe down the line this is something we can do, but at the moment I don't think it's worth it.
