First and foremost, my tip to you is to find 3 more people to do it with you.
No joke.
When I did it, it took me and 3 friend's roughly 25 hours to finish it. We did it over a weekend, about 11 hours one day and 13 or 14 the next.

hahaha halo 3... havent done that one in a while lol
i say if you can just do it by yourself with an extra controller, moving him every time the area's clear, but keeping him safe from harm. thats how i did it. but 3 friends is probably easier if they're good.
On a separate note, i have a friend that beat the entire game on legendary by his self!!

... Are you serious? I got the whole campaign done by myself in about 7 hours on legendary..
Just don't rush, enemies don't respawn so pick them off from afar. Use a million grenades and every long range weapon possible, run up to spawn bad guys and run back while letting your AI do some of the work.

We did it way back in the day, I was the only one who had beat Halo and Halo 2 on Legendary, so the other 3 were just along for the Achievements for doing it.
To each their own I guess.
And anyone who plays COD with me knows I like to run and gun most of the time. I lose my patience when I try to camp and snipe.

We did it way back in the day, I was the only one who had beat Halo and Halo 2 on Legendary, so the other 3 were just along for the Achievements for doing it.

im with AJ. just take your time. i beat it myself on legendary in im guessing like 8 to 9 hours. it was 2 days of playing. i do recommend playing through it first tho. this way you dont get turned around and you know the basic flow of baddies.

Yea do this ^, also play through Cortana about 10 times or have a video walkthrough up cause you'll get lost for sure...

The best tips that I can give is to take your time, use grenades, and make sure you use plenty of cover. It took me alittle over 7 hours to complete by myself. Believe me, there were times I wanted to call my friend for some co-op action because some areas were a pain in the *** to complete.

Best advice; find some friends to help. Lots of websites have forums with people willing to help. I beat the whole thing on Heroic on my own =D
