I have been thinking about this a lot as of late. Mainly with Dragon Age 2, but there has been several other games that it could be very useful.

There are games that allow this feature. I know right off the top of my head that Madden and other sports games let you name your Franchise and other saves for easy detection.

Does anyone else think that it would be a good idea to do so? I don't know what exactly the game developers would have to do to make it happen.

I can also see a downside. There are tons of games that don't need this option and if they did it could become very annoying.

This could be very beneficial for alot of games, mainly games with a long story and missable achievements, that way its easier to I.D what save is which by whatever name they put on.

The main thing for me would be for Achievements to minimize the amount of playthroughs. But then again, that could be the reason why they don't do it. They want you to do several playthroughs to maximize the amount of time that you have to spend on the game.

Sometimes I just make a bunch of random new saves and then forget why I made a save at a certain place to begin with.

So to answer your question I would name it by the name of the Achievement and move on. If another point came up where I needed to do another playthrough, just save it under the name of the new achievement I was chasing.

Yeah that would be great! I would do just what you thought, name it for my achievement, so i could pinpoint that spot. I hate restarting at the very beginning when i need is a certain spot to go to!

This would be a great feature in free roaming games, Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas. I could have used it instead of writing down which save involved what outcome.
