So, I am back, and I got Allen Wake. Yes I know it's been out a while... I'm a late shopper.
Alright, so, I was told to buy this game and play it with no lights on, the volume way up, and have nothing around me I could hit should I jump out of my skin.
Night one is as follows:
Moved lamp off coffee table...just incase.
Put game in.
Turned off lights.
Turned on my 1000 watt surround sound system to full blast.
Game Started!
Turned down my 1000 watt surround sound system to about half.
As the game started I was def. drawn into the story. It was right up my alley. And at the first playable section (the light tower part) I kinda got the spooks, but it might have been because I was hoping to get scared. Played through and boom, my heart is slightly beating faster.
Alrigh get to the little island home, and when the lights go out in the cabin, totally expected the worse. AND NADA!
Okay so, now I'm in the woods and the first time I fight the shadow people and I get my first jump. I kill one shadow, then the other, then I see a shadow person come up from a cliff... I shine him and he falls off the cliff... So I'm curious. I go over to the cliff and look down, good graphics I think to myself. I turn around, SMACK! My face meets the shiny end of an axe held by one grungy looking shadow man with a hat on. I try to recover, but no, I stumbled over the cliff edge and fall to my death... Game resstart.
Now Im ready, I do it again, no mistakes. Get a bit further in the game and I hit one of thoes shat your pants moments. Not a bad one, a wipe and go moment. The first time you get one of thoes flashbacks with the face of the widowy looking lady from the dinner. Yeah, I got that moment. But after that, the rest of the level was gravy.
Now its night two and episode two... and my question... does it get better?
