im sure this is somewhere out there, but i havent found it yet. Is there a way to put a picture in a post without uploading it the a website, such as photobucket, first? If anyone could point me in the right direction, that would be well appreciated. thanks

If its a picture from the internet just right-click and choose "copy image location" then add your [ img ] [ /img ] code
Im not sure if you can host a picture directly from your computer. Alternatively, you can upload the picture to XboxAmerica use the code from there. Its sort of a loop hole but even if you delete the picture from you uploads, the pic will still stay.
