It pains me to see Avatar for Best Picture... it was good but just doesn't compare to the others on that list. AND OMG UP IS NOMINATED FOR BEST PICTURE. Isn't that like only the third time in history an animated film was up for Best Picture?

Here are a few of who I want to win:

Best Picture: District 9, Up In the Air, or Inglourious Basterds
Performance by Actor: George Clooney
Performance by Supporting Actor: Christoph Waltz
Achievement in Directing: Quentin Tarantino
Best Original Screenplay: Quentin Tarantino
Best Animated Picture: Up

And then Avatar can have all the sound and visual awards

It just gets hype because of Cameron and the "amazing CGI" I saw better CGI in District 9.

Agreed, and that movie was fuckin' good. It had me at the edge of my seat almost the entire time... I never knew what was going to happen, but with Avatar you could call every next scene...

I'm glad District 9 is getting attention at the Oscars. The other awards ceremonies seemed to be blowing it off. I hadn't even seen it mentioned in another ceremony. As long as Avatar doesn't win Best Picture or Best Director I'll be happy.
