The World of Recycled Vessel is the new DLC content that was released for NIER, on May 11th for 560MSP.

In this DLC, you find the diary of Niers wife, which teleports you to a brand new world/dream that makes no sense and is riddled with words and enemies. An alternate reality some call it, no one is sure. Grimmoire Weiss describes it as a nightmare of sorts that is difficult to understand.

You enter the world as Young Nier (aka the Japanese Nier Version) You enter doorways which pit you in ferocious battles in a distorted version of areas that you are familiar with. During the way, entries of the diary are read off and make no sense at all. Many begin wondering if Niers wife was dillusional or just plain crazy, I am still unsure. During the battles, you find 3 new weapons that Nier can use, and you also unlock new costumes for your characters in the real world (But no Japanese Nier) You get to choose from a Samurai and kabuki costume pack which both transform all 3 main characters.

During the entire DLC you just fight baddies, in 15 different battles. They are broken down into 3 sessions of 5 battles. The last 5 battles get a little rough, even for a high level character if you are not careful. However they are pretty simple. If you try and fight these battles in the very beginning of the game, then do not expect to win. You also find rare items on your trip through Recycled Vessel, which can help you upgrade your weapons and so on.

After all the battles are fought, Nier and Grimmoire Weiss close the Diary and that is that. You have no sense of accomplishment, and nothing seems worth it.

The other bad thing, is there are NO ACHIEVEMENTS attached to this DLC.

Is this DLC worth the buy? Well if you wanted to see what the original Nier looked like from the japanese version of the game, then yeah. But in all reality, it seems like it is a fail of a DLC and not worth the 560MSP/6 bucks for it.

If you have a chance to buy the DLC, I say save your points. As it takes maybe 30min to finish this DLC, and yes I did get it and completed it as soon as it hit the market on May 11th.

Overall: Skip this DLC

Thanks for reading!
