NFS Hot Pursuit Thoughts/Discussions

Wondering what everyones thoughts are from the demo/if you're gonna bother picking up the game in 2 weeks. Personally the demo didn't do much for me, a one race demo/2 if you had friends who had already played it, that took up over a gig of memory seemed a little bit stupid. I didn't really think the cars handled very well and it doesn't seem like there will be much replayability in the game if all you do is run from the cops from point A to B or destroy the cars as the cops going from point A to B. Seems like the game will lose its charm after an hour or so, the online might be fun, but right now it doesn't seem like there's enough there to warrant a $60 purchase. What's everyone else thinkin about the game from the demo?

Haha Sims is hella addicting, put more time into it than Buggy New Vegas the last week, I just didn't think the demo was very good for this game, 1 race for a demo that took up over a gig? I mean, come on

After the abortion that was NFS Shift, I don't think I'll ever play another NFS game again... What's the point of having the computer steer, brake and auto correct everything you do? Then when you switch all the assists off, the cars don't handle worth A PISS and they're almost undriveable. PASS!

I was able to do both. Seeing as I already shelled out 60, I love it!(>_>. But yeah the cars handle like crap, the shortcuts were a good idea but I can't tell u how many times I crashed trying to get one. But once u get that shotcut it shows on your map forever so that good for autolog. Speaking of autolog, that thing is an addiction. I download the demo and said id only play a couple a few races... turned into 2 hours trying to beat my friends record who got it with the fast cray handling car, while I come in a few seconds after with the slower stronger car. I did figure out the handling problem but I haven't mastered it. And that was just the cops, the racers >_<. Since it was a demo only two songs, iffy, I chose the same car that's the fastest cop and it handles better than the cop but some how slower, I was like wtf man. I was able to pull of a first place on my first try but then I had to walk away. Shortcuts- going too fast to use them, and ps too dark to see them, but again once you find them and figure out the AIs its all boost and etc. I say worth 50 but the line of cars they have sadly is fast nostalgia for any car person, which I'm not but still vroom vroom, so I say worth the 60 especially if u have gold.
Edit: sorry for the read and I don't know how that smily got there

I played the demo, and it was pretty, and it was neat, but it was not worth $60.

Bump, 2 reviews so far, Gamesradar has given it a 10/10 while OXM only gave it a 7.0 hmm. Not sure whether or not I'll pick it up, still on the fence, I loved the old Hot Pursuit way back in the day though, that game was awesome.

Seriously man you make Shift sound horrible, I rented it and actually enjoyed playing the game. The cars don't handle like crap, and if they're doing so it's the fault of the player not the game .
I turned assists off after playing a couple levels with them on to acquaint myself with the controls, and had little problem winning races afterwards, though those drag races where such BULLSHAT!
I am also on the fence seeing as how NFS has been spotty with making worthwhile racing games, Most Wanted was phenomenal then several crap ass titles got released after it.
Shift was no Most Wanted, but it was definitely a couple steps in the proper direction, so I'll hold out for a couple weeks to a month and see if the game keeps its positive buzz.

Are you serious? The fault of the driver? I have top 50 times on almost every track in Forza 3.... Shift wasn't even CLOSE in comparison to any racing simulator. It's a stupid arcade racer. You don't see anything like the assists in Shift in any other game except the NFS games... No other game steers AND brakes for you on the lowest difficulty setting...
