Republican Scott Brown just beat out Democrat Martha Coakley in emergency Massachusetts senator elections today. What do you all think about this surprising turn of events?

I think its about time that Massachusetts finally got a senator that has a clue or at least more of a clue then all their previous ones.

As Nazi Pelosi said, it doesnt matter what the people want... Glad our Speaker of the House cares what we all think.

In theory this fucked the health care reform, because the Democratic party no longer has such a large number of people to represent them in the house. However,Pelosi said it won't stop anything.

According to Republicans, this has essentially made Obama a lame duck president only a year into his term. The real repercussions remain to be seen, but it does depend on Obama now.
The health care reform bill seemed to have been stopped anyway- which is a shame. You go on all the political sites and find all these republicans saying "America doesn't want health care reform!" And I wonder who these people are that they can speak for America! I mean... I want it. We make too much for medicaid and too little to afford the crap insurance Evol gets through work. I'd LOVE a public option. I'm not saying "America wants it," per se, but I am saying that as an American I dislike being spoken for!
I agree wilth Melissa. None of those people really represent us, unless you have enough money to buy your own senator like the banks and insurance companies do you will never really be represented.
