i know this isnt the best place to ask for help, but i know theres quite a few people here who use ipods/itunes and might have an idea on how i can fix my problem

okay, so a few weeks back my laptop got a virus. and to fix it we had to reinstall windows to fix it. so i reinstalled it. and lost everything. including, over 1000 songs, most of it pirated because itunes doesnt have a lot of the songs i listen to and pirating is just easier/faster for the songs they do have...anyways. so i didnt back up ANY of it, because ive never had a problem w/ limewire before (ive used it for 2 or 3 years, no problems except the occasional song mess-up) so now i have an ipod, w/ over 1k songs on it, w/ no itunes to synch up to.

now, if any of you have used itunes before, you know that once you synch your ipod up to a new itunes, you lose EVERYTHING. all your songs, all your apps, etc etc. im not even sure if you keep the songs you bought...and so heres where my problem starts. i want to synch it up to an itunes, to get some more songs on it (songs that itunes doesnt have -.- trust me, ive looked for em but to no avail) and i thought about jailbreaking it as well, but then again that still requires it synched to an itunes.

so heres my question: is there ANY way to resynch my ipod w/out losing all my shit!? i asked the apple community in a forum but i never got a response (this was like a month ago) so i figured someone on here might know how this might could happen. if theres nothing i can do...then....idk...

i really hate the way apple sets that up. you can synch your ipod to your itunes, get your songs, then if you wanna go to a buddies house and get his songs, you can, but you have to lose yours. its a garbage system, and im thinkin bout sending them a email or something cussin em out cause its so garbage....

inb4 get a zune, downloadin is illegal

Yes, plug your Ipod in and wait until it is recognized. It's gonna say, "There is content on this Ipod that isn't in this Itunes Library. Would you like to add it?" And say yes. If I'm not mistaken, even though you had to reinstall Itunes, you won't be syncing to a "different Itunes Library". Hope it helps.
