I just moved back into school and brought my xbox with me. It's the original 360 with NXE on it. The only way to get the device to work at my school is by registering the devices MAC (or whatever the hardwire ethernet equivalent is called) number onto some site, but the catch is that the only way I've seen online to find the number is if you go through the settings into wired internet and choose advanced options. The problem is that I can't choose wired internet because the device won't pick up on the internet unless it's registered.
I could easily be missing something here. I've tested the phone jack and it works and the cable is brand new. I'll call IT in the morning on campus but they're not open now so I figured I'd see if any of you had any solutions in the meantime
