Hard Drive Help

I currently only own a measly 20GB Xbox 360 hard drive and have been scrounging space for the last 4 months or so. I now only have 100 Megabytes left, terrible timing since tonight I will have atleast 4 new games to sink my teeth into. It's time for an upgrade and I plan on buying a 60 GB hard drive after Christmas. But after much research, I cannot seem to find a strait answer anywhere.

I was going to purchase a 60 GB hard drive with the intention of transferring all my data from my old 20 GB to the newly purchased 60 but after looking at transfer kits I cannot seem to find an easy solution or a sound kit that will actually work. If anyone has a transfer kit that they have personally used could you point me in the right direction as after many reviews I have yet to find one I am willing to trust in transferring all my game data.

Another question: Is it possible to have my Gamertag linked to both the 20 and 60 GB hard drives and just switch them out for the respective games I have saved to each hard drive/would this be a better route to go?

What they say is correct.

I have used Microsoft's transfer kit with no problems. You can only transfer from a smaller HDD to a larger HDD, and it will erase the smaller one afterwards.

You could do the 2 HDD's that you speak of, but you would have to constantly recover your GT every time.

It could possibly work if you transfer your GT by memory card each time......

Ok, thanks folks! I'll call MS and order my transfer kit, sorry for all the confusion! On the MS site it talks of only being able to transfer from a 20 to a 120.

I went from less than 1 GB available to about 212 GB.

And mine took 1 hr 37min.

I definitely needed a bigger HDD and my 360 had started freezing up on me. Last time it did that it got the 3RLoD. I just couldn't see spending $100 on a 60GB HDD when a 120Gb HDD was $179. But then the better deal was still the MW2 Console, here is why:

An Elite is $299. For $399, I got twice the HDD space, COD MW2, and an extra Wireless Controller.

120GB HDD = $179
COD MW2 = $60
Wireless Controller = $40
Total = $279

Add an Arcade system to that, $199, and you have $478.

I would say it was definitely worth it. And to get technical, add ANOTHER 120GB HDD, cause my new system stores 250GB. So the new total would be $657.

lol I do that with everything. Literally. Sometimes my wife hates when I shop with her, cause I will figure out the best deal on anything I want to buy.
