The long awaited Ghostbusters patch has finally arrived, as of 12/1/10. Polar Slimer will now appear, multiple confirmations of this. The bad news? This does not fix all achievement issues and several gamers (but not all of them) are reporting they can't unlock the remaining achievements. Most believe that if you already had 980 GS in the game, you are pretty much screwed.

While I cannot guarantee you that is true, most people tend to think that is the case. Some people believe, however, that you can only get 48 achievements worth 980 GS (regardless of which ones glitch). I barely played the multiplayer at all when the game was released, so far everything is working fine. I got Loans Paid Off and Egon's Guinea Pig, both of those only glitched for some people though.
Terminal Reality has provided almost no information on what this patch does, but it appears to be the same patch the PS3 got awhile back. If I were you, I would wait a few weeks (or a month) and see what further details come forth. Other gamers in your situation will try and you'll have a better idea then.

I will try to update this thread as I progress, though honestly this isn't a site I frequent the forums on.
It does appear that this is the same patch the PS3 had awhile ago. If that is correct, anyone who had an achievement (or in their case a trophy) glitch will never be able to acquire that achievement (barring a complete multiplayer reset by Terminal Reality). But, again on the PS3, anyone who had either A) never played the game before the patch or B) never had an achievement glitch before the patch, were able to acquire all their trophies. I would fall into that second group so I guess time will tell.
Today I acquired Egon's Guinea Pig, It's A Living, Wanted!, Loans Paid Off, and On The Payroll. I also caught Polar Slimer as I was playing with people who were much further along than myself. 5 achievements remain for me.
EDIT: I now have every achievement except for Payday! and No Job Too Big. Can't seem to make the last ghost, Glutton Slimer, appear though.
REEDIT: Caught Glutton Slimer, no achievement. Payday! won't unlock either. Stuck (with many others) at 980 GS.

One of the members over at Trueachievements started a new game under another profile and was able to unlock all content, so the patch works for new players. Still some discussion going on for those who experienced the glitch, but TR is communicating.

Hmmm...This is one of those games that I started forever ago and have yet to back + finish it. I haven't done any MP, yet, and I think I will wait a while until the REAL fix is in.

Yes, if you never put the game into your disc drive (ever!), you can 1000 GS Ghostbusters. If you played the game at all before the patch, 980 GS (or 48 achievements) is all you can get. I was skeptical of this 980 cap, but I only played one game of multiplayer before the patch acquiring no achievements. I recently worked through all MP achievements needing only Payday! & No Job Too Big for the 1000 GS. Glutton Slimer finally appeared (the last ghost I needed) and we captured him. The player I was with (who only has 700 GS in the game) got the achievement while I did not.
If you have played the game before, you can get ANY of the achievements, except for two of them. Which two you don't get is up to you, but you will not be able to get all 50 achievements.
