I've only really played Underworld and Anniversary, but I've enjoyed what I played. It clearly helped pave the way for some games of today. Best example is the Uncharted series.
The reboot series looks fucking amazing though. Oddly enough, the new Lara looks like someone I know IRL. o.O

i thought that the PSP tomb raider pissed me off. but the old one for the PS1 was BEAST. lol. titties. that's about it for my thoughts. and didnt she get like, in the top 10 in G4's old show Video Game Vixens? that show RAWKED.

I played one of the Tomb Raider games and couldn't figure out how to get past the first level, I don't remember what game it was but it was retail and it was weird as shit. The shooting and everything was normal but scaling walls and everything was way off. If it handled a bit better I would've enjoyed it and stuck with it.

The Tomb Raiders were ok. I enjoyed the demo for the xbla game. just don't have the money to get it.

I haven't played any of the games other than the original, but as far as a twin-stick shooter, I thought it worked out very well in the demo. The game is much more fun in co-op.

I enjoyed the original PS titles for Tomb Raider. I tried some of the titles for PS2 and 360 and wasn't impressed. I had been meaning to download this one and give it a whirl, but just never got around to doing it.

It is very difficult to reboot a franchise that has such a huge icon like Lara Croft. I enjoyed the different dynamics and the new things they tried, but I think it will take some time just to get used to not seeing the same old Lara. In large successful franchises you are selling the face, attitude and other characteristics of the main character. How would you feel if Halo had a different Master Chief, or if Marcus Fenix was a woman?
Overall I think they need to expand further on the franchise. Don't leave us hanging for several years to wonder what the new Lara is up to. If they really want this new system to take off and make us forget the old Lara, then they need to keep it fresh and keep us entertained.

I read about the resurrection of the franchise in one of the recent issues of Game Informer and I was impressed with how amazing it looks. I have not played a tomb raider game since back in the day when I repped the PS2 but I will for sure be picking the new one up when its released. Her makeover is hawt; nice new haircut, great piercing eyes, a soft face, and yet she is fragile and you can visually see the toll that is being taken on her both physically and emotionally. The new title sounds like its going to do a hell of a job to try and get you to actually feel for the new Lara Croft and go more in depth to what is actually going on with her unlike the past titles which just strapped an "angelina jolie" into a tight leather suit with her boobs constantly hanging out. Both ways are a win..but I am totally diggin the new direction they are heading. Hears to hoping for a fresh spin on a long living franchise!
