Experiencing a strange X360 glitch

Whenever I have my Xplorer guitar hero guitar plugged into my X360 it freezes, I unplug it and plug my normal wired controller in and it works fine from what I've seen so far but it might freeze later or something.

Has anyone seen this before?

red ring of controller of death. RROCOD. lol. sorry man, the only other guitar i use for rock band/guitar hero is the controllers that came with it. and an odd bass for rock band. it's pretty cool.

was the guitar plugged in prior to turning on the 360? if not, then there's a very slim chance the 360 will freeze trying to read it while the system is on, it's happened to me before when i tried plugging in my Rock Band drums while playing World Tour (disregard the Rock Band Drums -> World Tour game situation, it was made to be compatible so that isn't the problem)

try plugging in the trouble guitar before turning the console on, if that doesn't work, then i'd advise you to stop using it to prevent further damage lol.
