Car enthusiasts

I'm a car guy til I die! Is there any other on here? Seems like there aren't many people out there that can say that racing is their favorite game genre. But mine is. Who's with me?

Racing games get boring after 2-3 hours. But JuniorMT and I are probably the most hardcore car guys on the site.
We're mainly here for xbox, though.

I would have to agree with what AJ as being the ones who are most involved with real cars and modifying them. The race car genre can be fun, but do indeed get boring after a while. Only sweet thing is, no tickets involved in the gaming world!

Thats not a very accurate statement.

I think I sold PGR3 a few months ago. I loved that game though! Personally, I cannot get enough of racing games. I am at peace with FPS and RPG games being king, they always have and always will be because they interest a larger percentage of the gamer population.
What does everyone drive? I have a 2009 WRX. Absolutely love it.

You've have/had a car that run under 10 seconds in the 1/4 mile?
As far as I know, you're a motorcycle guy. Don't need to be a gearhead to make one of those fast. I have a 2005 Hayabusa GSX 1300, haven't even changed the air in the tires and the thing runs a very low 9 second 1/4 mile..

My family and I have been racing for a while now. Had fun with our neon srt4s, which made 636hp and 520hp a piece. Have had fun with our GTO which runs 11.44@122 in the quarter mile on low boost 91 octane and street tires. We just got the build done on the new Camaro which is now whippled, cammed, and geared and made 617hp on 91 pump on 10psi. The camaro has already smashed the gto in a street race and we are confident it will break the 10s with no issues on street tires.
Bikes are cool and all but I feel more safe inside of a vehicle. After seeing one of my mechanics put down his turbo busa in the quarter mile going 140mph, that definitely made me think about staying away from bikes. Thank god he had all his protective gear on and went for a sliding ride and ended up with very minor injuries.
But in the end, love the rush of power and the adrenaline in the quarter mile and the "occasional" street race.
As for my daily, I drive my slow family grocery getter and video game picker upper, 2008 Dodge Caliber SRT-4. 14sec in the quarter mile and still all stock.

Damn skippy I have. I don't do too much mods anymore. I've been really consumed with restoring and beefing up vehicles. Working on restoring my 63 chevy pickup. Just finished dropping a 350 engine in it. Now I have to drop the transmission and repair the pump, at least I hope that's what the problem is. Body work on both interior and exterior and bam! Classic restored. I've found just about everything to restore it to its former glory, with the exception of knobs that control the vent system. Probably going to have to retro fit something onto it. Then I have my 02 Camaro. I picked up the v6 version due to the hell of a deal that I got on it. That'll be my next project after I finish the truck. Planning on picking up an LS1 engine, beef it up and bolt it in. Of course after I replace the tranny, clutch and a few others. Body work on it is damn near perfect, so I won't have to worry about sinking money into that. Then I have my weekend fun bike. I've only added an air intake to it to give it a little more kick. That thing is a beast already. And last but not least I have a Ford Explorer which probably rolls at 30 seconds in the 1/4 mile. I don't win a lot of races at the light with it, but I'll have you know, that I did kick the dog shit out of Ford Pinto the other day. That's some bragging rights right there.

I almost got one of those Calibers before I decided on the Subie. They are definitely rare and quick and that's what I liked about them. I chose the WRX because it had AWD and the Caliber didn't and we get about 150 inches of snow every winter. Good choice though! If I lived in a different climate we would probably be driving the same car!
