Borderlands Crawmerax help

I can't for the life of me kill that big ugly thing solo.

I saw all the youtube videos showing how you run to that corner on the left side of the map and pick him off like that, but can never get there without him picking up on me and working me over in seconds.

So who can tell me what to do here?

I'm a level 61 soldier.

With the new baby it is a bit hard to get online to group up with others for this, but that's an option too. Just hard to schedule.

All you have to do is sprint left (not all the way left like in the video, halfway), there's no possible way you can't get there before he gets to you...

Easiest done with split screen. Your level 61 with a siren (above level 5 so you can phasewalk).

Keep the siren down by the vending machines. You go up, get in the spot where it glitches him, take out every point (except the back obviously).

Then when all purple spots are gone, simply have the siren phasewalk right through Crawmerax and shoot him in the back to turn him around. Let the siren get downed, and then work on his back. After the siren dies, do it again and again until you beat him.

Here's a video. Pay no attention to the guy talking, all I used was a machine gun that did 191 damage and beat him in about 5 minutes.

Don't get too frustrated if you can't do this at first. Once you know how everything goes down, you should be able to do it in no time.

Not happening man. I can't even get to a safe spot to attempt this. 1/2 way, 1/4 of the way, 3/4 of the way, all the way. No matter where I go on that left side he sees me as soon as I leave the tunnel and goes at me. This is so frustrating.

I dunno, maybe clear your cache, don't download any patches and try it? Maybe they fixed it?

Other than the method I listed you're going to need 3 other people who know what they're doing or it's not going to happen...

Holy Lame! I LOVE this game but I hated the Braaaaaaaaaaaaaaaains mission and Crawermax.

Figured out what my problem was....coming out of the lift I would run along that edge all the way to the corner and he would always see me and come get me.

I watched a few more videos and saw that they didn't run along the edge, they just ran straight to that corner along the top. Did that and he didn't see me. Doesn't make much sense, but it worked.

Now I'll work on those Underdome achievements some day when I'm really bored or have some friends on. Those Rounds/Waves are super boring to me.

I knocked off the mad moxxi missions last night, thank god i have finished all 3 larger (25 rounds)

I'm still yet to kill crawmerax, i need to get Roland up to lvl 61, he is still at 53

If you ever want help killing Crawmerax I got pretty good at doing it by myself with a bit of help during the end.

I would love help, but the problem is my friend is that im not really from Canada, i reside in Australia and our time differences would be a pain, But if you are a kind gentle hearted soul and would like to help a stranger, add us, if i see you online i will hang by the elevator and come up when the crab needs a destraction

. If not its totally ok, i have my mate currently playing through it, working brick up to a lvl where we can actually challenge the crab legit, or at least semi legit
