i would get the 42' vizio but like aj said make it a lcd i have a 42' vizio lcd and it is great

Yea I'd definately pass on plasma...I'm surprised anyone buys plasma tvs anymore really

Idk, depends, most games run in 720p right now so you'd be getting an extra 8" and sacrificing the 1080 which noone really uses that much for an extra 100 bucks, up to you, I'd go with what looked nicer and had a crisper screen and better colors.

You can't make a TV have a different resolution than what it comes with natively from Best Buy unless you use black magic and add pixels.
If it says 720p, that's the best it'll do.
