Its 8 player deathmatch, but the games can be launched with as few as 6 people in a game. The game auto chooses your species. My first game was a 6 player DM with 4 aliens 2 marines and 2 predators.
Time limit is 10 minutes, goal score of 30. I have only played on the same map twice so I am assuming there is only the one map.

this and then when I finally got into a match I didn't like it one bit. I tied for first and still didn't like it lol, but then again I never was a fan of Aliens or Predator movies

Yea the search times are pretty horrid, My first match I had to wait for about 10 minutes. 2nd and 3rd matches I didnt have to wait long at all because I played with the same group of people.
Well the opinion to buy or rent is up to you... personally I am a fan of the series so its a definite buy to me.
