First, you need to know I've been skateboarding since I was a little wee-one.
When I made an AIM account nearly 10-15 years ago (damn, I'm getting old), I wanted my username to be "iskateboard." The name was already taken, so I just switched the letters around. Ever since then, the username has stuck with all accounts I make. On the plus side, whenever I register for any website, I'm pretty much guaranteed that username.

I answer to Mini or Ogre (you know the proper way to spell it) or simply to my name. Usually most people on XBL call me Mini. I'm glad I don't have a complex about my height I do however catch it if someone calls me by my name (Roger) because not a ton of people have that name.

Yeah, my name is Matthew, but most people in real life call me by my last name, Norris. So really that's why I don't answer to Matt. I've gone by Norris because there were 5 Matts in my elementary school, so we all went by our last names.
