Xbox America's focus has always been on connecting people through games. At times some of the functionality of our site deviates from that foremost principle, such as the leaderboards which cater to gamerscore wafflers. In order to hopefully further our fundamental goal, we have developed a new feature, a social events system.
This new system will allow gamers to connect more easily through pre-planning gaming events, and providing a means to announce spur-of-the-moment gaming excursions. If you need someone to boost with, now you can simply create an event. Other Xbox America members will be able to see what you're up to and decide whether or not to join you. If you want to setup a killer Call of Duty tournament, you now have the means to organize it.
While the system is fairly rudimentary, it will be expanded upon in the future and should, at a minimum, keep things more organized.
