Yep it happened to an Elite. In Microsoft's Defense though, i DID purchuse my Elite on the day they came out. So the hardware was still the same trash that was in the old Pro consoles. The repair service is now smoooth as butter. No more waiting for a box. No more having no idea where your console is. UPS emails you the label letting you SHIP THAT DAY and then lets you track your 360 pretty much state to state. If you dont get an update for a couple days that means your console has been put on a plane like mine! My Elite has been gone for 6 days now, and MS just emailed saying that the "Repair has been completed, and we have shipped it back to you". I love it.
